The St Cecilia Youth Music Scholarships committee has decided that to ensure our audition program is not disrupted we will change our program this year and invite entrants to submit their performance online. This will also ensure that HSC students who are commencing exams on 8 November are not distracted by having to undertake an audition on Saturday 6 or Sunday 7 November.
All entrants will be required to provide a recording of their performance via our online application form here.
This method is used by AMEB for music examinations and we are confident that this technology will ensure all entrants receive a fair assessment.
Entrants will be required to identify themselves and the pieces they are to perform and then upload videos of their performances made using a smartphone or other device. The recordings will then be assessed by our adjudicator.
Entrants who are selected for an award will be notified as soon as possible after Sunday 7 November and will be invited to perform at our awards Concert on Sunday 5 December at St Bernard’s Catholic Church, Batehaven.
If there are any students who do not have an appropriate recording device please contact Chris Heazlewood at email@example.com and assistance will be provided.
We trust this process will ensure that all students who wish to apply for a scholarship will not be disadvantaged by the ongoing uncertainty we are all facing due to COVID.
